Essential Bathroom Elements for a Spa-like Feel

Homeowners appear to be constantly looking for ways to make their homes better places to live, whether through extensive remodelling or simple design changes.

The bathroom is often the focus of renovations, considering it’s the most commonly used room in the house.

Because their bathrooms are the first and last rooms they use each day, homeowners frequently want to transform them into tranquil retreats akin to spas.

If you’re also looking to improve the look and feel of your bathroom so that it appears to have come straight out of a magazine spread, there are a few components you can incorporate.

Below, I’ve listed some elements that a spa-like bathroom renovation must have.

Contents

A Chic Freestanding Bath

Creating a spa-like bathroom without a tub to unwind in for a few hours is practically impossible.

For this reason, select a freestanding bath with double-ended sides for that spa-like experience and greater comfort.

You’ll find freestanding bath models made from different materials to suit any space, style and preference. But for guaranteed relaxation, select a freestanding stone tub. Stone is a material that naturally holds heat.

So using a freestanding stone bath will allow you to take longer, warmer baths without repeatedly turning on the hot water.

The stone prevents heat from escaping, allowing you to soak in the tub for as long as you like without worrying about water waste or additional heating.

Freestanding tubs give you positioning flexibility and diversity because they don’t require wall support.

These tubs can also give the impression that your bathroom is more spacious than it actually is.

This is due to the fact that they aren’t enclosed behind a wall like insert bathrooms, which makes the space appear smaller.

Due to their independence from a fixed position, freestanding tubs also allow more ways to use the available space.

In order to best fit the layout and proportions of your bathroom, a freestanding tub can be placed at any angle.

Freestanding bathtubs are frequently perceived to be more expensive than other types. However, because of improved manufacturing efficiency, these bathtubs have become substantially more affordable in recent years.

It means that for a much lower cost, you may acquire a tub that mimics the appearance and texture of more expensive materials, such as real stone.

Rain Showerhead

No matter your bathroom design, a rain showerhead will add a sense of luxury to it.

Imagine taking a shower in your own spa-like bathroom while a gentle rain falls over your head.

An effect produced by a rain shower head resembles warm summer rain in sound, appearance, and feeling. Because of this, taking a shower transforms into a totally engrossing experience that actively detoxifies the skin, relaxes the muscles, and energises the body.

You can adjust the settings to alter the flow, pressure, and water temperature.

Modern features like LED illumination, numerous spray settings, invigorating massages, and premium designs and finishes are included in the more expensive models.

Heated Flooring

A plush bath mat can make the floor feel cosy and fluffy. But nothing matches heated flooring for genuinely going above and beyond and making a room sumptuous and magnificent.

Imagine how great it would be to get out of the shower and onto a warm, comforting floor on a chilly winter morning.

Just be sure to add a digital thermostat in order to control the temperature while installing heated flooring. Y

ou’ll probably want to keep it a little colder throughout the summer to save money on energy.

Soothing Colour Palette

Choose soft, neutral, and tranquil hues for the colour scheme of your bathroom. Blue, beige, white, and light greens are popular choices.

These hues can be implemented through paint, tiles, cabinets and trim. As for the fixtures, chrome looks stunning when combined with gentle hues.

Soft Lighting

In order to create a tranquil retreat, bathroom lighting is a crucial component. After all, nobody wants to enter a room and immediately become blinded by white lights.

One of the finest solutions for generating a spa-like ambience is LED lighting. For your wet room, try using ceiling spotlights, strip lights for a hidden effect, or up-lighters for a comfortable feel. Remember that bathroom lighting needs to be suitable for use.

Upscale Storage Solutions

Small bathrooms require thoughtful storage because there isn’t much room for extra towels and toiletries.

There are two main types of storage to think about for a spa bathroom remodel. Your hair dryer and other items that could cause clutter if left out in the open, like toiletries, should first be stored in a hidden location.

But most spas also use open shelving as display space. This provides a perfect area to display soft, opulent bamboo towels (rolled or folded) and it makes them convenient to grab as you leave the shower or bathtub.

Additionally, you can add baskets to hide necessities like body lotion, extra toilet paper, and more.

Another great idea is to use clear glass jars to hold fancy soaps, bath salts, and bath bombs.

Items like a stool or bath caddy can be used to add both functionality and storage to your bathroom.

When not in use, these can be used to store or display items like loofahs, bath sponges, towels, and other necessities.

Use Indoor Plants to Add a Fresh Touch

After choosing the more noticeable elements, the small decor touches such as plants are next.

House plants are a great way to give your bathroom a modern feel. Many plants thrive in humid settings, including the Yukka tree, the bamboo plant, and spider plants.

To add a lot of greenery and give the space an exotic and fresh aspect, place plants on window sills, next to bathtubs, and even in the corner of damp rooms. For a truly spa-like feel, put some stones at the bottom of the pot.

Do Not Overlook Aromatherapy

Aromatherapy is a must for any bathroom that wants to resemble a spa. To create a relaxing ambience in your bathroom, use essential oils, scented candles, incense, and oil burners.

Select aromas like lavender, jasmine, lemon, peppermint, or sandalwood to promote relaxation and reduce tension.
