It’s amazing how quickly you can add style to a room with the simple addition of a vase.

Gather several vases together and make your way through your home, experimenting with this essential décor accessory.

If you’re looking for new vases, you’ll find them in dollar stores, large supermarkets and in popular home décor shops online.

You can also find gorgeous vases in thrift stores and antique shops. Ready to begin using decorative vases in every space?

Here are 9 spots in every home that would benefit from a decorative vase and how to use them to showcase your personal style.

  • 5 5. Bring serenity to the master bath
  • 6 6. Brighten a bedside table

  • 8 8. Enhance the entrance with eye-catching works of art
  • 9 9. Beautify bare corners, a hallway table or stair landings
  • 10 Vases are the ultimate decorative accessory

1. Style an office bookcase

A bookcase is the perfect location to place a vase with a single sprig of greenery, a floral stem or displayed empty. Stack a few books and place a small vase on top.

Vases are great for filling empty spaces and turning bookcase shelves into pretty showcases. Use vases that pick up the colors from a room’s furnishings or window treatments and mix and match shapes and sizes to create visual interest.

Working in a room that makes you feel good helps get creativity flowing. Use vases on a bookcase and a single vase with some flowers on your desk.

It’s amazing how a vase containing a few stems from the garden can brighten your day, enhance your mood and make you more productive.

2. Dress up a living room mantle

A fireplace mantle in a room with high ceilings would benefit from tall, slender vases to fill the space with color and texture.

If you have a large piece of artwork above your mantle, group a few vases in various sizes and place them on either end of the mantle, framing the artwork without blocking it.

If a mirror hangs above your mantle, consider placing a single vase in the center of the mantle and let a floral arrangement be reflected in the middle of the mirror.

3. Add elegance to the dining room

There’s nothing quite as lovely as a crystal flower vase on a dining table to add a sophisticated touch to the room.

A crystal or colored glass vase is the ultimate display vessel for a bouquet of long stemmed roses when you’re celebrating a special occasion or a few hand picked daisies from the kids.

A cluster of glass vases at the center of your table can give a casual breakfast buffet a more formal look and feel.

A dazzling glass vase adds the right touch to any table, whether you’re dining with the family or hosting a formal dinner. Special occasions or not, vases and flowers make every meal so much more enjoyable.

4. Showcase beauty on a kitchen window ledge

A window ledge is an appropriate spot to showcase fresh blooms or a potted plant. In addition to offering your plant a sunny spot in which to flourish, a vase of floral stems seems that much brighter displayed on a window sill bringing the beauty of the outdoors, inside.

5. Bring serenity to the master bath

White porcelain waterdrop vases have a calming purity, while green colored glass has a serene effect, making both choices ideal for designing a spa-like environment.

Placing a few of these graceful vases in your master bath helps to create a setting that extends the invitation to slip beneath a sea of luxurious bubbles to unwind.

Place pretty glass vases on a bathroom vanity or along the edge of a soaker tub. With or without flowers, simply sophisticated glass vases are an easy way to elevate your decor.

6. Brighten a bedside table

Add decorative vases to a bedside table or dresser to give a bedroom an added air of sophistication or to enhance a casual elegant vibe. Textured or striped vases are the ideal way to add modern flair and style to your space, no matter what your color scheme may be.

7. Add shimmer to a coffee table

Surround yourself with beauty in common areas where you spend a lot of time, such as a living room or den. Pretty glass or ceramic vases can decorate a coffee table, side table or shelves.

Pick vases that showcase your personality, whether you love vibrant colors or prefer modern simplicity.

A sculpted flower vase or shimmering silver lined glass vessel can reflect your boho chic style or sleek sophistication.

8. Enhance the entrance with eye-catching works of art

Nothing says “welcome to our home” like a stunning bouquet of flowers in an eye-catching vase.

Greet guests the moment they step into your entrance with breathtaking decorative vases in head-turning designs that reflect your artistic side.

Display statue planters, murano glass vases and dramatic flower pots that are striking enough to be in an art gallery. Let the grandeur of beautifully adorned vases, romanticize your space.

9. Beautify bare corners, a hallway table or stair landings

Pretty up a bare corner where a piece of furniture would be too bulky, but large decorative vases would add just the right touch to bring the space together.

Use ribbed ceramic vases like the ones shown above that blend beautifully into any setting.

Mix and match them to create elegant compositions to fill a boring corner or bring a chic touch to stair landings.
