I purchased carpet from Smith Carpets (as I had done several times) and the carpet was very good. However, the installlation was very BAD, but having deal with this business previously, I paid the billing in full, however at time of payment, I advised the installation was not good – the seams showed and looked very bad. I was told that if the carpet did not lay down and the seams not show in just a short time, they would come out and inspect the carpet and would warranty that work as stated when the carpet was purcased. Every time I called, the person to do the inspection would give me a time he would be coming the this area and was to come out and inspect the carpet…He never came to look at the poor installation, and after several months of this “run around being given me”, I called and asked him to come out, inspect the carpet and back up the warranty given me at time of purchase. He then told me, “I cannot help you, Ms. Simpson, and will not come out and look at the carpet.” I was taken advantage of by this firm as I believed they would take care of any problem with the carpet and installation as promised upon purchase. My problem being that I had paid them in full, having deal with them on carpet purchase and installation every time I purchased new carpet for my home. Backing up the word of the sales person, manager and everyone that I spoke to at the place of buiness would have made the experience a good one. As it still stands more than a year after this purchase and installation, I am not a happy customer.
