This carpet company is horrible because the owner enjoys running driver’s off the road. On 4/29/08, I was driving on Lincoln Drive and the driver practically ran me into oncoming traffic. I call the number on the truck and I was told that black females need to keep their loud mouths closed because we complain too much. I was appauld by his response. The owner is a black male who stated that his reason for almost side swipping my car and running me into oncoming traffic was because he was in a rush. The owner showed absolutely no compassion. I would never recommend this company to anyone because the owner sounded like he had a criminal background record due to reckless driving and/or assault due to anger issue. I would not trust this company!

The scheduling here is terrible! I made an appointment for a carpet cleaning about a week and a half in advance. Someone from Stanley Steemers came out but did not have the right equipment with him – I’m in an apt building and needed a portable cleaner. He proceeded to tell me that I did not request the portable cleaner. I called the 800 number to reschedule, and the customer service rep said it was very clearly in the system that the guy should have brought the portable cleaner for my appointment. She went to investigate further, and it turned out they all the portable cleaners were already in use and that was the real reason he didn’t bring it. She rescheduled my appt for the next day, and this time, no one showed up at all. Upon calling customer service again, I found out it was a glitch in the system that allowed them to book the appointment but it wasn’t actually available. So I rescheduled for the next day. Since I had work, she booked me for a 8am-9am time slot. At 7:50, someone called and said the cleaning crew was on the way. At 8:55 no one had showed up yet, so I called. Apparently they were doing a job down the street and running about 30-40 minutes late. Umm thank you for telling me that! The guy stopped by and of course tried to upsell me. I said no. I ended up having to leave the keys with him bc I was late for work. He said he would call after he was done but he didn’t. The only reason for the 2 stars is that the carpet looked great after the cleaning. But it wasn’t worth the time and the stress to ever use them again.

Completely terrible. We scheduled an appointment to clean an apartment we had just purchased a week in advance. After the 3 hour drive, we waited an hour past the scheduled cleaning time. When the van showed up, the cleaner said that they will need to go and find a portable cleaner to clean the apartment. We then wait another 3 hours, with us calling every hour for an update. The last update claimed that they were 10 minutes away. However, after three hours, a third person called who said that the portable cleaner had broke, and that they will need to reschedule. Needless to say, we were out of our patience and declined their services. The combination of their lying to us on the expected time and service, as well as the wasted 6 hour round trip car ride made our experience terrible. What a complete waste of time.

We recently bought a converted barn. Due to its unusual history it has some CRAZY windows. Most are the old multi-pane double hung style, but there are also French doors to a balcony and two very large bay windows, one which is on the second floor! On top of that they ALL have been fitted with storm windows which looked like they hadn’t been fully cleaned since they were installed in 1964. Ouch! Gene laughed when he saw the hodgepodge, but he was unfazed. He quoted us such a reasonable price, we agreed on the spot. It was amazing to see the transformation which took place. We are big believers in “mom and pop” local businesses and “Touch Window Cleaning” is a credit to the industry. In the future, we wouldn’t consider hiring anyone else!

When I looked back on the fact that the sales person did not deny the fact that they do not bait and switch when I mentioned that it was my experience with another company. it should have been a clue. That is exactly what they did for part of the installation. When I voiced my concern about it, the manager was more concerned about whether the carpet was properly installed and getting paid. I paid without hesitation only because I was fed-up with dealing with unscrupulous carpet installation dealers. which I suspect occurs more so in in the urban areas. I obviously will not use their service again and advise potential customers to beware.

I would have given Avalon a high rating if I was just rating the showroom. Unfortunately, I used Avalon’s installation and that is where I would never, never, never contract with them again.The installers were subcontractors and not supervised by Avalon staff, even though Avalon states that they train them. I had carpet, hardwood flooring, and tile installed. Each installation was with a different sub.. A member of the Avalon staff only came to the property after complaints were made. None of the installers showed any consideration for my property. They left a mess, trash, food wrappers, nails, shards of tile, etc… The work was sloppy and recquired hiring my own installer to obtain satisfaction. Avalon customer service told me that my expectations for the job were too high. When I spend over $30,000 my expectations of the satisfaction guaranteed should be high.Purchase your product from Avalon, but NEVER use their installation service.

We used Avalon for our flooring. The installers did not speak English. This was a 2-1/2 day job. They did it in one and did not leave until 9 PM. The job therefore is not good at all. We called Avalon. 8 times in 13 weeks. We had to deal with “George”. He told us the repairs on the floor were not big enough for Avalon to come back and do. He’d call a flooring man and give him the heads up. Week 13: We spoke to the salesperson, manager, his boss and then the regional manager. “George” lied and told the managers he had taken care of it. We come to find out he called the flooring man AFTER the regional manager called him. We never heard from anyone. We went to BELLA Flooring in Pipersville, PA. What a difference! Real people. Honest, caring, competitive prices, efficient, friendly, etc. Just so you know, we are having laminate taken up in the kitchen (save it for the repairs), putting vinyl flooring in the kitchen, regrouting of the bathroom tile (never done correctly to begin with) and quarter round put around the baseboards. This job was not big enough for Avalon to come back, repair the buckles and do the rest. If you live near Doylestown call BELLA flooring instead. If you don’t call BELLA anyway and ask them for a referral to someone in your area.

I scheduled an appointment and was told the guy Tony would show up between 11 and 1 he didn’t arrive until almost 3 o’clock only contacting me twice once around 12:30 to tell me he would be late, about 30 minutes, he didn’t show up in 30 minutes. I called again around 1:30 and he said he was on his way, i received another call at 2:30 with him asking for directions I asked why he was running so late and he said he had to get tape from home depot. He finally arrived at 2:55. It took him around and hour and a half to finish. I checked the finish product the entrance to the room wasn’t glued down and the piece he placed in the closet was just thrown in there. I asked him to glue that spot and the corner. When he was finished he just got his payment and left, he made no attempt to clean anything and the edges of the carpet spots he replaced were fringed and he didn’t tidy up anything it looked like a child had done the job. I was very disappointed with the work i would never recommend them to anyone.

Waste of money to do the same cleaning I already do myself. No deep cleaning was done- they only surfaced clean. When they got to my house I mentioned I wanted the bathrooms and kitchen scrubbed, but they were in and out in under 2 hours for a full size home. I also asked if they would vacuum the basement steps – an item i forgot to include when i signed up. The staff supervisor gave it a flat out no.

They cleaned our house a few times and were OK. Good enough to keep using them. Yesterday, though, we had an appointment for a cleaning between 12-3. When they did not arrive, we called to ask where they were. They told us that they were running behind, but would be here by 4:45. That was inconvenient, but still OK. Then, at 5:01, they called to cancel!! It’s ironic considering they have a $39.99 cancellation fee if you don’t give them 24 hours notice! Anyway, I won’t be using them again. The one thing a cleaning service definitely has to do is actually show up! Also, the reason they have so many good reviews is that at one point they offered a percentage off your cleaning if you left one.

As a child my parents never had a carpet cleaning service come to the house to clean their carpets. But once I had kids, I couldn’t imagine how they went so many years without a professional cleaning. I didn’t know who to use, and my neighbor (about 4 houses down) had Impact Carpet Cleaning at her house the other day. I went up to the truck and Jerry, the owner, gave me his business card. I was lucky enough to get an appointment within a week, as he had a cancellation and promised me a call if that happened. He gave me a 2 hour arrival window, and he texted me 30 minutes before he arrived. The process was seamless. He cleaned my living room, dining room. office and training room. The carpets were consumed with chocolate icing, spilled iced tea and gatorade, pizza sauce, and unfortunately, pet urine. My kids are a disaster, but you would never know it now! My carpets are like new! It’s really unbelievable, the before and after. I should have taken pictures, but I never thought the result would be so dramatic. All stains came out. All of them! And he has his own product to treat pet odor. The smell is gone. And it never came back. He gave me a price over the phone, and that is the price he charged me when he was finished. You just never know what you’re in for in these types of situations. They give you one price, then when they get to your house, the price doubles. Not these guys. True to their word. The machine was in his truck and he only had to run hoses into my house. I could tell that he took a lot of pride in his work. He took the time to show me his machine and how the cleaning process worked with a truck mount system. I’ve seen what those portable machines can do – my sister used a company with a portable. You just can’t compare the two. The power of his truck mount machine was like nothing I’ve ever seen. He told me he also cleans mattresses and upholstery. That will be next on my list when I call them. If you rely on reviews like I do, listen to me. This is the company to use. You won’t find better. It’s rare that you find a genuine company that just wants to do good work and provide the best experience for their customers. Spring cleaning time is near.
