Paul Davis Restoration was contracted to handle my water remediation claim when I had a pipe burst in my crawl space. They were very quick to come to my house and start the clean up. however, everything that followed was a disaster! I had to constantly follow up with the project manager to get things done. Materials were not ordered on time, the time frame far exceeded that which was originally quoted, the work was not done properly. I had subcontractors in my house smoking, sanding of floors done without putting up plastic (I’m still having issues with the excessive amounts of dust in my ventilation system), improper handling of my personal belongings, etc. The claim occurred in October 2006. I was told that it would take 2-3 weeks. The project went on until February! After getting my insurance company’s claims rep involved, he got Paul Davis Restoration to come back out to my house to do the work properly the second time. There shouldn’t have been a second time. I would not recommend using Paul Davis Restoration.

The drip pan for the air conditioner in the condo above ours overflowed. It soaked our utility closet ceiling and caused a chunk of drywall to fall. I was concerned that mold could be growing in the space between the floors, so I called Sparkkles. Everyone that I dealt with at Sparkkles was very professional and knowledgeable. Greg, who inspected the water damage, confirmed that there was no mold. He said that Sparkkles could do the drywall repairs but his recommendation was that we save a lot of money and do the drywall repair ourselves. He made suggestions on how to do it and what materials to use. He also checked our air conditioner drain pan’s float mechanishm and showed us how to clean out the trap for the drain. There was no charge. I definitely would hire Sparkkles again for any future repairs!

I ordered a Groupon for this company, 4 rooms cleaned $65, which is a phenomenal deal when getting carpets cleaned. The “co-owner” showed up on time but his appearance was unprofessional and ratty looking. The van was unmarked, unclean and older. After trying a few times to get their equipment working they began “cleaning” my carpets. When walking through the finished job I noticed areas that did not come clean by their methods. I spoke with the co-owner about it but got the response that it was just how bad off my carpets were. My carpets may be 7 years old but by no means are they that bad off. I took photos of the areas after they left, then I got out the old Hoover steam cleaner that we usually use around the house for spills etc. and went to work. Everything came out just fine which made me feel duped by this company. Having a professional carpet cleaning company show up with the proper equipment and clean your house for $65 is an exciting thought to say the least. It certainly caused us to forget about the old Hoover and role the dice with Encore. BTW, they never returned my wife’s call when she left a message regarding this concern. I purchased a twongo ad for air duct cleaning. As soon as I called to schedule the cleaning, Mike started adding on expenses that were not listed in the ad. When I questioned those expenses, he got defensive and rude. I still scheduled the cleaning, but when he got there, he said that we had an entire additional system in our house, and that 1 additional system was going to cost the same as the 2 systems I purchased combined!! That would double my cost! When I again asked him to clarify why we had an additional system (seeing as how we only have 2 thermostats and 2 heaters and 2 air conditioners), he got rude and defensive. He actually yelled at me and then hung up on me in the middle of the conversation. I couldn’t get a word in edgewise because he was so busy yelling at me and interrupting me! It is pretty much the WORST customer service that I have ever had from another person. I was able to get a refund for my purchase, but I would never do business with him again, and I would recommend that others avoid his business as well.

Be wary of this guy. There are a lot of positive reviews on his website but those are handpicked from a small pool of success stories. This company is not a member of the Better Business Bureau and they are not licensed which means they do not have insurance. If someone from Southeast Flooring gets hurt in your insured home and the company does not have insurance I can only guess what happens. As for the work they did for me. The bottom line is that I paid the owner, Mike Phelan, to fix a bad squeak in our infantВ’s room and he did…..for 6 months it worked great. Now the squeak is back worse than before and it is actually so loud that it wakes our baby up when we come in at night to check on her. I called Mike to ask him to come out to inspect our problem and he became very agitated at me and talked without listening. Never in my conversation did I ask for anything for free and I even offered to pay more if the problem was unrelated but Mike told me it was a flat $500 and he didn’t need to inspect it first. When I asked how he could make a determination without inspecting the problem for himself he said he already knew what the problem was and he would only inspect it for a fee. Upon hearing that he already knew what the problem was I asked why it wasn’t fixed the first go around and he dodged the question and ranted about “cheap nails”?? The real problem with this company is on the back end of the work. Mike is very nice and personable up front. He speaks with knowledge about flooring and appears to really know what he is talking about. The problem is with the actual work itself. Remember the phrase, “Those that cannot do teach”? Mike seems to know what he is doing but can’t actually do it. The worst part of all of this how i was treated after I paid him. I really did not expect for him to yell at me through the phone about cheap nails and then hang up on me. Do not pay Mike Phelan to work on your house. I am now going to pay another company to fix his poor workmanship and because he has zero professional affiliations there is nothing I can do but write a review on online. I was burned but you donВ’t have to get burned like me. Stay away from them.

Having been a franchise owner and Operations Manager for Jan-Pro of Raleigh, I can attest that Moe Hassan and Sean Hassan (owners) are some rather shady characters. It would not be above them to either alter contracts, or hide certain parts of as contract to either keep a client, or benefit themselves without any regard for the client. As far a their franchisees go, they are well known to try to intimidate franchisees with threats of various types. Because these franchisees don’t read the Policies and Procedures manual too well, Sean often uses that leverage tto intimidate them into doing things that they contractually are not obligated to do. I would, personally, shun away from this commercial cleaning company…AT ALL COSTS.

I had an issue with the franchise owner and called the home office and all they did was tell the franchise onwer what I said. The problem was never fixed, I am currently looking for a new company. My advise say away far away. I looked into the company more and found out the real reason the franchise owner did an ok job..the fees they pay to the home office is unheard of, and what is it they do. They did not help me with my issues. I also delt with two different sales people. I was dealing with one and then they no longer worked there and then delt with someone new. That should have been my first clue.

They always miss my stains or i receive a sorry tag. the quality of pressing is very poor, double creased pants and poorly pressed blosues. They charge $4.50 and up, depending on the fabric type (silk, linen or sequined) I end up paying $7.50 per blouse. and they didn’t tell me the price until I picked up my clothes, that’s when I also realized they don’t guarantee stain removal. I’m not sure if they put to much water/steam into the carpet or the extraction system was not working…but I ended up having to rip out and replace the carpet.

I dropped off a nice blouse (in addition to some pants) for cleaning and I was told it would be ready the next day. When I went to pick it up, the rest of my clothes were ready, but I was told my blouse would take an extra day. I then returned a week later to pick up my blouse, and I paid for it, and left. The cashier didn’t say anything to me, just checked me out as usual. When I got home and looked at the blouse, I realized that all of the buttons on the front had been removed and had been replaced with cheap, ugly pearl buttons. The original buttons on the sleeves were left on (so they didn’t even match the cheap replacements). No one had bothered to tell me there was a problem, and I guess they thought I wouldn’t realize that they had switched the buttons. It is one thing to ruin a shirt, but to try to pass it off, charge full price, and not tell the customer is really bad. I will never use this dry cleaner again!

I brought in an order that was just a bunch of regular mens’ cotton blend button down shirts, and confirmed twice (verbally) that the price would be just over $25. When I came to pick up the shirts, my order was $52. When I asked why it was over twice the price she had quoted me, she said that the shirts had to be hand pressed. I never asked for the service, but I had no choice but pay or leave the shirts behind. I was very angry.

John @ P.F.C. assured me “”we handle [allergies & asthma cleanings] all the time.”” Hwvr, he & staff showed up absolutely reeking tobacco smoke. I could smell them b4 I could see them & promptly escorted them out. Obviously there was some false advertising here bc anyone knows better than to smoke around an asthmatic. I later request’d they take me off their mail list & John replied in a VERY RUDE letter stating: “”… I will take you off our list. Perhaps if you kept your home cleaner your sons allergies would not be as bad. As for your comments I have been doing this type of work for over 30 yrs and SMOKING the whole time with no complaints. p.s. We just had our first cleaning with CARE Services and it was wonderful! They are extremely professional and courteous. They are very knowledgeable about stain removal and the technical aspects of carpet care. We had extensive filtration stains that other companies could not remove but CARE was able to remove them without any problems. Our carpet, although good quality, is over 15 years old. It looks like new again! We also have 2 golden retrievers that keep the carpets dirty as well. I take comfort in knowing that I can count on CARE Services to work their magic again in six months. In fact every employee i have had the opportunity to come in contact with has been pleasant and extremely helpful.
